Allow Raid Dino Feeding Ark Server

Hello I have experienced a bug in the updating of ASM. Some of the settings for my servers are reset on update and this is extremely inconvenient. I thought it was a fluke the first time and was not 100% sure what caused it but today after an update a large number of random setting have been reset to default. This list includes Mod IDs, PVE cave building, Passwords, Autosave frequency, Tribute Downloads, Allow Third Person Camera, Allow Player Map Location, Show Floating Damage Text, Enable Flyer Carry, Food & Water Drain, Max Tamed Dinos, Allow Raid Dino Feeding, Taming Speed, Day & Night Speed and more I could be missing. Not everything under one section gets reset but random things do. I would like an answer to why this has happened twice now. Is their anyway to backup a profiles setting inside of ASM? Also I am not sure if it is related so I will add it in here but the Custom User Settings keeps adding in sections I have deleted previously after a restart. I made the mistake of adding the [] when adding a custom section and deleted those entries but they return on restart.

What is the path to your ASM data directory and Server install?

Yes ASM can backup your server, profile and settings using the auto backup function which needs to be setup and enabled in global settings and each profile.

Install is D:\Program Files\ArkServerManager
Servers are D:\Program Files\Ark Servers

I enabled Auto Backup in the global settings but didn't see anything in their about it backing up the profiles settings.

You can't have your ASM data directory (note: this is not your application install location its the location that Steam components are located) in program files nor your servers, they need to be located at the root of your drive. ie C:\ASMdata\Servers

There is a guide to moving the folder locations in the ASM discord #FAQ channel.

Don't forget to enable backups in the automatic management section of your profile as well. The backup will include all of the files to fully restore your server; world save, player profiles, tribe profiles will be in one zip file and in the second will be your ASM profile, and ini files.

I am trying to change my data directory and the instructions say to "3. Open ASM, Open Global Settings and change the Data Directory to the new location. " but it wont let me change anything in the field nor do I see any button that would allow me to point to a new directory anybody know how exactly you can change the directory?

I was unable to change the data directory due to a bug on the current version of ASM (1.1.410.2). with some help on the discord support I was provided with a workaround.

1. Close ASM and any servers that may be running

2. Go to C:\Users"Your User Name"\AppData\Local\ delete the folder named Bletch1971

3. Go to your ASM application install folder default is: C:\Program Files\ArkServerManager\

4. Use a text editor to open userconfig.json and delete the location listed for "ConfigDirectory": and "DataDir": be sure you don't delete the comma at the end.

5. Open ASM, it should request you to select a Drive and Name the folder the default name is fine or if you have already copied the data directory to a new location at root of your drive you can use that folder name.

6. After selecting the folder location, ASM will direct you to restart ASM and close, launch ASM again and your should be set.
